Hello all, I am so sorry it has taken me so long to update. I have had a few hiccups happen all at once that have taken me away from anything and everything. Firstly my computer decided to not want to work anymore. I guess it was on strike. After much negotiation with my lap tops union, and finagling, my husband did some stuff to it, downloaded some things, and got rid of some stuff. I don't know, he is a software architect so he knows these things. I don't, he managed to get it going. For now...
And then we got hit hard with a horrible flu bug. There is 5 people in my house and we all rotated this bug. We are talking sick. Brutally sick. I did wayyy too much laundry while sick because my kids are immune to throwing up anywhere but their beds. Good times. I was on the stomach flu diet and lost 10 pounds because of dehydration. Oh yeah, we got that bad.
After we got the all clear of no one spewing for 24 hours I wiped all surfaces down, cleaned sheets, pillow cases, got new tooth brushes. I even opened up a few windows a little in 40 degree weather to air out the house. But we are disinfected and flu free. So I am slowly coming back into reality. We have done ZERO projects for weeks, so I don't have much to share. But I have missed getting things out there. I am hoping everything will be back to working order on this here little blog within a week or so. Please bare with me, and all will be back to regularly scheduled programming soon enough.

I stalk things I like. Anytime I am in a store I always find a few things I like. Most times I either decide it wont work, or if it will get it. Then there is the expensive things. The ones I want desperately but feel are not justified in the cost. I want to hide the item way in the back of the shelf. Just like I did when I was a kid. If I cant get it no one can. So there!

It has been warm here the past two days. And when I say warm I mean it hit 39 degrees today. I was rocking a long sleeve shirt and no coat. It is beyond sad and pathetic how much we have gotten used to ridiculous temperatures. But tomorrow we are supposed to get more snow, and possibly freezing rain. So that means ice. It is just a kick to our butts reminding us it is still winter.

|these little vases are shot glasses we got as a gift for our wedding. Never used, until now|
Using something, but not for the reason it was made. Umm.... what? Am I the only one that does this? What I mean is re using an object, but in a new way it was not designed for. I find an object that is made and used for something specific and then I use it for something different. Got it? Did I clear that up? Some of it is out of necessity. I am in need of a TV stand, but don't see one I like. Hey an old dresser will work the same. And I need a basket for hats, a drawer from said old dresser works great.

So for this house stalking segment I am taking from my experience over the weekend. I was in Chicago IL over the weekend and saw so many beautiful buildings. Town houses, stunning brick apartments. I became inspired to feature a house from Chicago.

I have come to the conclusion that once you have kids Valentine's day stops being fun. Not for the reason you think. Sure you may still manage to get away for a date night (jealous). The reason I mean it is not fun is because it becomes more work. I now have two kids in school, one in kindergarten and one in preschool. So this week I have attended two Valentine's parties. Snacks were brought. I had to assist my children in making and addressing 16 Valentines cards for my preschooler, and 23 for my kindergartner. That my friends takes a lot out of you.
